The JUIN Tech R1 is a cable operated hydraulic disc brake and offers a unique solution for the rider who wants to step up from mechanical disc brakes, but also for riders who want the convenience of a disc brake without having to switch to hydraulic STI.

The hybrid brake (mechanical-hydraulic system) works with a 2-piston brake caliper as a closed hydraulic mineral oil system. This allows the rider to use their normal Sti / Ergo or Flat Bar levers on a bike with disc brake mounts without the expense of a fully hydraulic braking system. The braking power is increased compared to a mechanical disc brake and is on the level of a purely hydraulic disc brake.

The brake pads and cables can be easily adjusted using adjusting screws on the brake caliper. In contrast to one-sided actuation of a mechanical brake, both pistons of the R1 are pressed against the brake disc. At the same time, the JUIN Tech R1 offers significant weight savings with a weight of around 142 grams per brake caliper.
